Product Name: ReArm Rust C (Formerly MYK Rust Convertor)

What it is: A single-component, ready-to-use chemical solution designed to treat and convert stubborn rust on iron and steel surfaces into a stable, protective layer. It transforms rust (iron oxide) into an organo-complex compound, sealing the surface and preventing further corrosion.

A: No. A key benefit of this product is that it eliminates the need for sandblasting. However, all loose and flaking rust must be removed using a stiff wire brush. The surface should be cleaned and degreased for the product to work effectively.

Q2: How do I apply it?

Prepare Surface: Remove loose rust with a wire brush. Clean and degrease the surface.

Apply Product: Apply ReArm Rust C generously using a brush or roller.

Drying/Curing: It dries to touch in 20 minutes but requires 24 hours to fully cure and complete the rust conversion process.

Second Coat: For best results, a second coat is recommended.

Topcoat: If applying an oil-based paint, wait 48 hours after the last coat of ReArm Rust C.

Q3: What does it do to the rust?

A: It does not remove the rust. Instead, it chemically converts the rust (iron oxide) into a stable, black, organo-complex compound that is moisture-repelling and acts as a protective layer.

Q4: Can I paint over it?

A: Yes. In fact, it is designed to be an ideal base for paint. Once fully cured (after 24-48 hours), you can apply most standard topcoats for additional protection and aesthetics.

Q5: What is the shelf life?

A: The product has a shelf life of 36 months (3 years) from the date of manufacture when stored in its original, sealed container in a cool, dry, shaded place.

Q6: Is it safe to use?

A: Caution Required. The product is corrosive and has a low pH (2 - 3.5). You must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a face mask and rubber gloves. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, flush immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention if necessary.

Q7: What is the coverage area?

A: The datasheet does not specify a coverage rate as it depends entirely on the rust profile and surface porosity. Heavily rusted, porous surfaces will require more product than lightly rusted, smooth surfaces.
