91 000 74051 Mapei Mapeplast Super An integral waterproofing and plasticizing chemical admixture for concrete and mortar. It is a brown liquid that disperses cement particles, reducing the water content required in a mix and making the concrete denser and more impermeable.

Primary Function: To act as a waterproofing agent from within the concrete (integral) and as a plasticizer to improve workability. It also has a slight retarding effect, slowing down the setting time, which is beneficial in hot weather and for large pours.

A: The standard dosage for integral waterproofing is 0.4% by weight of cement. This equals 0.2 kg of Mapeplast Super for every 50 kg bag of cement. Dosages can be varied between 0.2% and 0.5% depending on the required effect (workability, retardation).

Q2: How and when should it be added to the concrete mix?

A: For maximum effectiveness:

Add it to the mixing water.

Introduce it into the mixer after the other ingredients (cement, aggregates, and at least half of the mixing water) are already in.

Avoid adding it directly to dry materials.

Q3: Does it affect the concrete's setting time?

A: Yes. It has a slight retarding action, meaning it will slow down the initial setting of the concrete. This is beneficial for large pours and in hot weather but must be planned for.
