Dr. Fixit Flexi PU 270(I) A high-performance, solvent-based, one-component, polyurethane waterproofing membrane. It is liquid-applied, cures upon contact with air moisture, and forms a highly flexible, seamless, and elastic protective layer.

Primary Function: To provide a durable, long-lasting, and root-resistant waterproofing barrier for a wide variety of structures, capable of bridging cracks and withstanding significant structural movement.

Q1: How is this product applied?

A: It is typically applied in 2 or 3 coats by roller, brush, or airless spray.

Surface Prep: Surface must be clean, sound, and absolutely dry (<5% moisture). New concrete must cure for 28 days.

Priming: Absorbent surfaces must be primed with Dr. Fixit Primer PU or Dr. Fixit Pidipoxy MIFP.

Application: Apply the first coat. Apply the second coat after 12-18 hours (but within 48 hours).

Reinforcement: Reinforce critical areas (corners, joints, pipes) with Geotextile Fabric embedded in the wet coating.

Q2: What is the coverage area?

A: The total consumption is approximately 1.2 1.5 kg per square meter for a 2 or 3-coat system. Actual consumption depends on surface porosity and application method.

Q3: How long does it take to cure?

Tack-free: 5-6 hours (at 20C, 50% RH)

Light foot traffic: 24 hours

Final cure: 7 days

Q4: Does it need a protective layer?

A: Yes, protection is mandatory.

For terraces: Protect with a 40-50mm concrete screed (M20 grade) laid over a geotextile separation layer.

For roof gardens: Follow the screed with finishing layers (brickbat coba, tiles, etc.).

Alternatively, it can be finished with Dr. Fixit PUTC (polyurethane top coat) for UV stability and colour.

Q5: Can it be applied on wet surfaces?

A: No. Absolutely not. The surface must be completely dry (<5% moisture content). The TDS explicitly warns: "Do not wash surface with water." before application.

Q6: What is the shelf life?

A: 9 months from the date of manufacture when stored in its original, unopened container in a dry, cool place (5C to 30C), protected from moisture and direct sunlight.

Q7: Is it safe? What precautions are needed?

A: Caution Required. The product contains isocyanates. During application, you must wear:

Protective clothing

Chemical-resistant gloves

Eye goggles

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Ensure adequate ventilation. Always refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before use.

Q8: How does it handle cracks?

A: It has excellent crack-bridging capabilities:

It can bridge dynamic cracks up to 2mm wide.

Larger cracks and joints must be pre-sealed with Dr. Fixit PU Sealant and reinforced with geotextile fabric before the general membrane application.
