91 000 74051 CICO Tapecrete P-151 An acrylic-based polymer-modified cementitious coating supplied as a liquid polymer. It is designed to be mixed with cement and sand to create a flexible, durable, and waterproof slurry for surface treatment, protection, and repair of concrete and masonry.

Primary Function: To enhance the properties of cement, overcoming its shortcomings like poor adhesion, low flexural strength, and fragility. When mixed with cement, it forms a composite coating that provides excellent waterproofing, bond strength, and chemical resistance.

Q1: How do I mix TAPECRETE P151?

A: The standard mixing ratio for a coating slurry is:

For Coating: 1 kg TAPECRETE P151 : 2 kg Cement (by weight). Mix thoroughly to a smooth, homogeneous slurry.

For Filler (to fill depressions): 0.50 kg TAPECRETE P151 : 1 kg Cement : 1.5 kg Silica Sand.

Q2: What is the application process?

Surface Prep: Clean the surface thoroughly (scarify, grind, or water blast). Remove all dust and loose material.

Pre-wet: The concrete surface must be thoroughly pre-wetted. Before application, remove standing water so the surface is only damp.

Apply: Apply the mixed slurry by brush. Two or more coats are recommended.

Drying: Allow the first coat to air dry for 5-6 hours before applying the next coat.

Curing: After the final coat, allow 2-6 hours of air drying, then apply moist curing by spraying water for the next 24 hours.

Q3: What is the coverage area?

A: For a two-coat system on concrete:

Q4: What is the shelf life and how should it be stored?

A: Store in a sealed container in a dry, cool place (5C to 30C). Do not allow it to freeze. The typical shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture under these conditions.

Q5: Can it be used without cement?

A: No. The TDS explicitly states: "CICO TAPECRETE P151 should not be used without addition of cement." It is a polymer additive, not a standalone product.

Q6: Is it safe for potable water tanks?

A: The datasheet states it is highly durable in continuous wet conditions and is non-toxic. However, for potable water tanks, always check for specific local potable water certifications before use.

A: The product reaches full cure in 14 days. It can be submerged in water after 2 days of air drying following the 24-hour moist curing period.
